I studied Medicine at Aberdeen University, Scotland and graduated MB ChB in 2003. My Basic Surgical training was also based in Scotland between Aberdeen and Dumfries. I further trained in The Royal Sick Kids in Edinburgh for a year and commenced Higher Surgical Training in South-East England in 2009.
This period of training rotated through; St Georges Hospital (London), The Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital (Brighton), Starship Children's Health (Auckland), Southampton Children's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (London).
I was initially awarded Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2007 and subsequently a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (Paediatric) in 2014.
I completed my training and was awarded a Certificate of Completion of Training in Specialist Paediatric Surgery by the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom in 2016. I am currently vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Specialist Paediatric Surgeon.
Whilst I am experienced in the breadth of Paediatric Surgery and Urology, my areas of special interest are Minimally Invasive Surgery (Laparoscopy/Thoracoscopy), Endoscopy (Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy in children) and Gastrointestinal surgery.
I am a member of the New Zealand Society of Paediatric Surgeons and the British Society of Paediatric Surgeons. I engage with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons programme for Continuing Professional Development.
